Built for Sri Lanka.
We are on a mission to make personal finance, academic planning, and daily math simple, fast, and accessible for every Sri Lankan.
It started with a simple frustration. Whenever we needed to calculate our monthly PAYE/APIT tax, check our university GPA, or estimate a housing loan, we had to rely on generic global tools that did not understand Sri Lankan rules.
The local alternatives were often outdated, heavily cluttered with intrusive ads, or required us to input our email addresses just to see our own numbers.
We realized Sri Lanka deserved better digital tools. So, we built HariTools.com.
Our Core Principles
Locally Accurate
Our tools are strictly calibrated to the latest regulations, from the 2026 Inland Revenue Department tax slabs to specific Sri Lankan university grading scales.
Privacy First
Your financial data is your business. All calculations happen directly inside your web browser. We never store, track, or send your inputted numbers to external servers.
Blazing Fast
No slow page reloads or waiting for results. By utilizing modern web architecture, our tools provide instant, real-time answers as you type.
How This Site Is Maintained
We publish under the HariTools Editorial Team name rather than a personal byline. That means the case for trusting these numbers has to rest on method, not on a photograph and a job title — so here is the method.
Primary sources only
Every regulated calculator is built from the document issued by the authority that sets the rule — IRD tax tables, PUCSL and CEB tariff gazettes, Central Bank rates, Department of Labour circulars, UGC handbooks, Sri Lanka Customs schedules. Across 37 tools we cite 50 primary sources, every one of them linked on the tool that uses it. We never build a calculator from a news summary or another site’s tool.
The working is shown
Each tool states the formula it applies, works through real examples, and publishes a reference table at common input values. You should never have to take a result on faith: the methodology page sets out what every tool on the site computes and from which document.
Dated reviews and a public revision history
Every tool carries the date it was last reviewed, the date the rules it applies took effect, and a dated log of what has changed since it was published. Rate-bearing tools are re-verified quarterly and immediately whenever a new gazette or tax table lands. The full commitment — including how we handle a reported error — is written down in our editorial & review policy.
Estimates, and we say where they stop
These tools model the standard case. Exemptions, secondary employment, lender-specific fees, and institution-specific rules can all change the real answer, and each tool names its own assumptions rather than quietly glossing over them. Where money or eligibility is at stake, confirm with the authority — we link it on every page so you can.
