How credit-weighted GPA works
A credit-weighted GPA gives larger modules more influence. Multiply each module's grade point by its credits, add those weighted points, and divide by the included credits. A simple average of letter grades can be wrong when module sizes differ.
Degree-class planning also depends on the programme rules. Some faculties cap repeated grades, exclude non-GPA modules, apply final-year weighting, or require a minimum number of completed credits. Use the calculators for planning, then verify the result against your current handbook.
